GOAL NO. 1- NO POVERTY
To end poverty is the first global goal for sustainable development with its main aim being to eradicate all forms of extreme poverty everywhere in the world by 2030. Other targets include halving the amount of men, women and children who live in poverty according to national definitions and administering social protection systems to keep the poor and vulnerable safe. Today we live in a world where 1.4 billion people live on $1.25 or less each day and where everyday 22,000 children die due to poverty, proving to be a huge issue that must be solved. Poverty is not just problem in developing countries such as Bangladesh and Ethiopia but is also a major issue in developed countries as well. Those effected by poverty are stripped of any freedom as they must dedicate every minute of their lives simply to keep themselves alive. Eliminating poverty is an essential global goal as not only will it boost economic growth but it will also save the suffering and painful deaths of many innocent people who can then live on to make the world a better place. |
